Beach House Blackpool is rewriting the restaurant rulebook this summer with the launch of an exciting new Children’s Menu that offers bolder flavours for bright young appetites.
Forget boring beige buffets… The Fylde Coast’s favourite beachfront restaurant and bar is proving that children’s food choices can be every bit as exciting as the grown-ups’ with the launch of a vibrant new Children’s Menu inspired by the fresh, sunshine flavours of the Mediterranean.
And Beach House Blackpool invited a group of enthusiastic young food critics, aged from just one to twelve years old, to an extra special tasting event to put Executive Chef Adam Green’s specially designed new creations through their paces.
As the summer sun sparkled across the seafront, the discerning little diners and their families tucked into fresh smoked salmon sushi, succulent lemon and herb king prawn skewers, spicy chimichurri chicken sliders, perfectly grilled fillet steaks and refreshing watermelon, feta and tomato salads; all served with colourful fruit-packed mocktails complete with fun lemonade shots. And the verdict? A unanimous thumbs up.
Adam’s tasty new menu has been created to reflect something many parents have noticed over recent years – children’s tastes are changing. With more families travelling abroad, watching food-inspired TV shows, discovering global cuisines through social media and cooking together at home, young diners are becoming increasingly confident and curious about trying new flavours.
Research from organisations including the Food Standards Agency and Nesta also suggests children are more willing to experiment with different foods when they are exposed to a wider variety of ingredients from an early age, challenging the outdated idea that children’s menus should only feature the same handful of familiar options.
Beach House Blackpool has embraced this new generation of adventurous eaters by creating a menu packed with fresh ingredients, bold flavours and restaurant-quality cooking, while still keeping the classics firmly on the menu. Homemade pizzas, mini fish and chips and crispy chicken goujons still remain popular choices, but every single dish is made from scratch using fresh, locally sourced ingredients; giving even the best-loved family favourites a delicious Beach House twist.
Beach House owners Hagop and Cheryl Tchobanian said: “Children’s tastes have evolved enormously. Many of our younger guests have travelled across Europe, sampled different cuisines on family holidays and are far more adventurous than children’s menus often give them credit for. We wanted to create a menu that reflects the way families eat today and offer fresh, colourful, exciting food that everyone can enjoy. Whether it’s introducing someone to their very first king prawn skewer, encouraging them to try chimichurri, or simply serving the best homemade pizza in town, every plate receives the same care, creativity and quality as the dishes on our adult menu.”
The launch also comes at a time when attitudes towards children’s dining are also shifting across the hospitality industry. Recent Food Standards Agency research found that many children’s menus in UK restaurants are still dominated by fried foods and limited healthier options, while leading chefs and nutrition experts continue to encourage restaurants to offer smaller portions of high-quality dishes that help children develop broader, more adventurous palates.
It’s time to bring your family to Beach House Blackpool. Because great food isn’t just for grown-ups…
